I was just looking at Kaffe Fassett's site . Wow that stuff is all gorgeous. I have a signed copy of his first quilting book, and the funny thing is I don't quilt--the book was supposed to be inspiration--that was 6 years ago! He amazes me with his use of colour. I would LOVE to knit one of his designs, though I have to admit, I don't know if I would wear one. That might be an expensive undertaking for a sweater that I would more likely hang on the wall than wear.

I should really be watching the kids... The einstein sweater is coming along nicely. Have the first sleeve half way completed. If my sweetie wants to watch a DVD tonight, I could have the whole thing finished. Then I just have to hunt for some buttons. The button selection around town is never great. But this sweater is for my two-year-old, something he won't choke on and that's easy to use is about my only criteria. I added a few more links to blogs I love today and am investigating joining the knitting blog ring. I think I want to wait until I have this blog on my yet-to-be-created-site. I hear crying...better run

Well, time to knit a bit before bed. I was so hyped yesterday about finishing my son's Einstein coat this weekend, but then I got into this blogging and urge to knit waned. I'm happy with my blog set up so far, so now I can knit. I'm sure my family will like that I'm not glued to the computer.

Today, has been a thesis and blog day, not a knitting day. I am trying to find a way to "do" a blog like the ones I like so much on the knitting web ring. I will keep using blogger (since it seems like the place to do it). Now I need to get my web page up and running and figure out how to ftp this blog to it. Maybe then I can add all the yummy stuff like counters and weather pixie and mood faces I keep finding.

So I decided to add one more thing to my crazy schedule and try my hand at blogging. I'm not even sure what I will put on my blog. But for now it's a good place to talk about my dissertation (but not today) and my knitting. Tonight, now that the kiddies are asleep I'm going to work on the Einstein coat I'm making for my son. It's a nice easy, no thinking, sit in front of the tv project. Just what I need today after hurting my brain trying to start writing my method chapter.
